The Jumbie God’s Revenge (The Jumbies Series)

An out-of-season hurricane strikes Corinne’s seaside village, and a second, fiercer storm drives villagers from their homes toward shelter in the mountains. Corinne first believes the ocean-ruling jumbie Mama D’Leau caused the weather, but learns that the angry god Huracan is responsible. Using her supernatural powers, she joins friends and some enemies to discover why he is angry and try to save her Caribbean home. The story draws on Caribbean and West African tales.
