The Light in the Lake

After her twin brother Amos drowns in Maple Lake, twelve-year-old Addie is drawn back to the water despite her parents’ fears. Amos left a notebook containing clues about a creature in the lake, and Addie takes a summer position measuring pollution there. With Tai, the lead researcher’s son, she investigates Amos’s clues and learns that the lake faces pollution. Addie follows Amos’s interest in magic while holding to her own scientific beliefs.
