He withdraws to his room and writes stories in which he is a pony surrounded by terrible horses. As the conflict continues, his writing gives shape to feelings of loneliness, disconnection, and isolation. When his sister discovers the stories, she apologizes and offers him a hug, opening the possibility of renewed connection between them.
