Tenacious: Fifteen Adventures Alongside Disabled Athletes

This book presents profiles of fifteen disabled athletes. Each profile identifies an athlete’s sport, disability, and personal history, then includes a daily joy and a daily challenge in that person’s own perspective. One profile introduces Rico Roman, who became disabled during U.S. Army service and later began playing sled hockey. His daily challenge is staying motivated to exercise, while his daily joy is his dog, Peanut Butter. The author also writes about being both disabled and an athlete, and includes a discussion of preferred language.
