Still Sal. (A Miller Family Story

Sal is excited for first grade, but her plans unravel when she and her best friend Griff are assigned different teachers. Griff’s teacher seems much more fun, and Sal tries to find a way into that class, even dressing like Ms. Flowers. A disagreement with Griff adds to her unhappiness. At home, Sal is frustrated by sharing a room with little sister Poppy and jealous of older brother Billy’s dog-sitting job. After cutting her tangled hair shorter, Sal wonders whether she is still the same person she was before school began.
