STARLA JEAN

Starla Jean is determined to catch the thin chicken she finds in the park, even though her father doubts she can do it. Once she succeeds, the problem changes: she must work out how to care for the chicken. The story follows Starla Jean’s effort to bring the bird home and take responsibility for what she has caught. It centers on a girl, her father, and the unexpected challenge posed by a chicken from the park.
