The Little Wooden Robot and the Log Princess

Tom Gauld

A king and queen receive two children: a small wooden robot made by an inventor and a princess whom a witch has enchanted to become a log each night. The robot wakes his sister each morning, until a distraction leads to her being thrown from a window in log form. A goblin sells the log to a barge captain, sending the robot after his sister. His search carries him north, where he must identify her among many ordinary logs and pull her home. Along the way, the siblings face adventures, help one another, and receive assistance from friends.
