So Tired, So Wide Awake
Susanne Strasser
At bedtime, a group of animals shares a large bed, and most are ready to sleep. Seal is still awake and heads to the bathroom. Soon Crocodile remembers that she has not brushed her teeth, and other animals rise one at a time to handle their own unfinished tasks. Each trip is marked by distinctive footsteps and the sound of the door. Finally, Hedgehog joins the group in a sleeping child’s bedroom, where they gather for a goodnight kiss and pile onto the bed.
