Race to the Truth: Borderlands and the Mexican American Story

This account presents U.S. history through a Mexican American perspective. It challenges a familiar framing of migration by noting that Mexican people lived on this land before the borders discussed in the book existed. Their cultural traditions and practices helped shape the American Southwest. The book also addresses efforts by white colonizers and settlers to erase those cultures and histories.
