Race to the Truth: Exclusion and the Chinese American Story

This book tells U.S. history from a Chinese American perspective, moving beyond the commonly taught focus on nineteenth-century railroad labor. It notes that Chinese immigration to what is now the United States may date as far back as 499 CE, long before Columbus. The account addresses the long presence of Chinese people in America and challenges the idea that this history began only with the railroads.
