Quackers is a cat who has been raised by ducks and assumes that he is one of them, even though he dislikes several duck activities and sometimes feels misunderstood. After meeting Mittens, a barn cat, he joins the other cats and feels that he belongs there. He enjoys their food and mouse-chasing, but later misses his former life and friends. Quackers comes to understand that he can be both duck and cat while also being himself.
