Eleven-year-old Ari and her nineteen-year-old brother Gage leave the home of their legal guardian after Gage says he has found them an apartment. Instead, they become homeless, moving among friends’ homes and sometimes staying in a shelter. Ari keeps their situation secret because she does not want to betray her brother. As she tries to keep up at school, her insecurity grows. Gage attempts to find work and housing despite the obstacles created by not having a current address.
