One-osaurus, Two-osaurus

Kim Norman, illustrated by Pierre Collet-Derby

In this counting rhyme, stylized dinosaur characters play hide-and-seek as the numbers build toward ten. The large ten-osaurus rex roars, stomps, and chews behind a bush while the other nine scatter to conceal themselves. The apparent king of the game turns out to be the smallest dinosaur, a baby. As he goes looking for the others, each dinosaur appears by its matching numeral. The opening image frames the adventure as a child’s toy-based play story.
