#NotYourPrincess: Voices of Native American Women

This collection brings together art, essays, poems, quotations, and interviews by Indigenous women across North America. The contributors address painful personal and cultural histories, including violence, racism, sexism, colonialism, stereotyping, and the treatment of Native women as “princesses” or costumes. Their work also expresses cultural pride, courage, self-affirmation, and mutual support. The voices represented include artists, writers, physicians, athletes, and scholars, looking both at historical harm and at Indigenous women’s lives today.
