My Forest Is Green

An Asian child living in a city looks from a high window toward a large forested park and calls it a forest. The child also makes a second forest from drawings inspired by nature. During visits to the park, observations become artworks: trees are tall while ants are short; trunks can be wide or narrow; rocks feel heavy and stones light; leaves are crisp, while moss and lichens are soft. Further descriptions use colors and unexpected qualities to capture what the child notices. The book joins an urban green space with a young artist’s explorations of color, texture, scale, and nature.
