I Don’t Like Koala

Adam receives a stuffed koala but finds its yellow eyes frightening. Whenever he hides or tries to leave the toy behind, his well-meaning parents return it to his bed. Koala reappears after Adam attempts to lose it at the grocery store and at the park, making the toy seem increasingly ominous to him. The story follows Adam’s shifting feelings, from the excitement of opening a gift to fear, disgust, frustration, anger, and eventual acceptance.
