Five Minutes (That’s a Lot of Time) (No, It’s Not) (Yes, It Is)

A boy considers how differently five minutes can feel in everyday situations. Waiting with his mother at the post office, sitting in traffic, drying dishes, and standing in a bathroom or roller-coaster line make the time seem especially long. A dental visit also feels drawn out, while a roller-coaster ride ends too quickly and bath time feels unnecessary. Before bed, however, five minutes is exactly enough time to hear a story.
