Expedition Backyard

Mole and Vole are friends living in the country with very different approaches to the outdoors. Mole prefers quietly watching and drawing the natural world, while Vole is always ready to set out exploring. Their graphic-novel adventures unfold in chapters as they investigate familiar places in daylight and after dark. A visit to a nearby house unexpectedly leaves them inside a packing box on a moving van, carrying them to a city. Mole is anxious about the change, but Vole wants to investigate. Exploring the city by day and night brings the pair into unfamiliar forms of nature, new friendships, and different ways of seeing their surroundings.
