The barnyard animals eagerly await the hatching of an egg and welcome Baby Duck. At night, however, Baby Duck stays awake and keeps calling out to play, preventing the rest of the barnyard from sleeping. The animals try familiar bedtime approaches, but nothing works. Duck eventually finds a solution by taking Farmer Brown’s tractor keys and driving Baby Duck around the barnyard until he falls asleep. A final wordless scene continues the story’s conclusion.
