City Girls

At an Upper West Side middle school, three girls’ lives intersect. Elisa is seeking asylum, Luisa is dealing with the possibility that her parents’ marriage will end, and Alice is coping with a parent’s illness. As they meet, judge one another, and face major changes at home, an unexpected friendship develops among them. Set in New York City, the novel follows their individual pressures as well as the connection that grows between the three classmates.
