Call and Response

Call and Response is a collection of stories about ordinary families in contemporary Botswana. The stories follow relationships, traditions, and caregiving as the world around the families changes. One story concerns a young widow who wears mourning clothes for nearly a year in keeping with expectations, while questioning what the tradition means and whether she is ready to meet those expectations.
