Bulldozer Helps Out
Candace Fleming
At a construction site, Little Bulldozer wants a job while the larger trucks stir, lift, and scoop. He is assigned to clear a small pile of debris and heads off eagerly. The task changes when he discovers newborn kittens living in the pile. When the other trucks later check on him, he asks them to be quiet. Rather than moving debris, Little Bulldozer has found a different responsibility: caring for the kittens. The story centers on his wish to help and the work he discovers.
