Rabbit lives in a warm, safe community populated only by rabbits. Reaching for a carrot sends her tumbling through a hole and into a river, where she encounters an anteater she sees as frightening and unfamiliar. Hungry and hiding in another hole, Rabbit receives food from the animal rather than another carrot. That kindness changes her view. She begins to explore beyond her burrow and discovers many different not-rabbits, along with new possibilities for friendship and fun.
