A Feather, a Pebble, a Shell

A young girl visits natural environments across Israel with other children and an adult leader. In each place, she finds a small object, observes and holds it, then leaves it behind before moving on. Text boxes define the objects and add scientific facts, such as an explanation that a black pebble in the Dan River may be basalt formed by lava cooling rapidly long ago. The group visits 11 sites, including desert, sea, cave, and beach. A final map locates the places explored.
