A Day for Sandcastles
JonArno Lawson
In this wordless picture book, three siblings spend a day at the beach making sandcastles. A windblown hat crushes their first castle, waves wash away the second, and a running toddler destroys their next attempt. As the tide narrows the beach, they keep building and rebuilding closer to where their parents sit near a dune. Around them, other beachgoers pursue their own activities, while a seagull tries to claim part of the children’s picnic.
