A Day at the Beach
Gary D. Schmidt, Ron Koertge
Over the course of a hot day at the shore, 26 children move through the beach scene in intersecting storylines. Some visit different blankets and families, while others play in the water, fly kites, throw Frisbees, or make structures from sand. Tobias’s missing iPhone creates a connection among the children. The novel follows their separate perspectives as their lives overlap during one summer day.
