Seventeen-year-old Jamie Taher-Foster enters her final school year with a Toronto checklist and plans for the Winter Formal with Ben, her boyfriend of three years. After Ben returns from the summer wanting to end their relationship, Jamie sees him with Olivia Chen and tries to win him back. Her plan involves pretending to date Axel Dahini, a younger TikTok dancer whose bicycle Jamie has damaged. Although Jamie and Axel have little in common beyond Arab heritage, the time they spend together changes how they see each other.
