Winnie Nash Is Not Your Sunshine

Winnie spends the summer with her grandmother in New Jersey while her family navigates several changes. Her father has a new job, and her mother is pregnant following a miscarriage. Winnie’s parents also ask her to conceal her identity again while she is away from home. As she manages family expectations that do not fit who she is, Winnie tries to work out how to be herself. Her summer includes the hopes and challenges tied to friendship, family, pride, and community.
