Under the Great Plum Tree

Miss Bandari, a good-hearted monkey, meets Mr Magarmach, a crocodile, beneath a great plum tree in India, and an unlikely friendship begins. Later, the monkey nearly suffers betrayal by her friend. She survives through quick thinking and bravery, and both characters are horrified by what has happened. The story joins friendship and danger with illustrations that incorporate Indo-Persian designs.
