This Impossible Light

Written as a sequence of poems, the novel follows fifteen-year-old Ivy as stress accumulates around her changing body, her parents’ divorce, and growing distance from her best friend. Her mother’s depression is another part of the family’s situation. Under these pressures, Ivy develops an eating disorder. The book centers her struggles with body image and self-worth while tracing the emotional effects of family change and loss of connection.
