The Secret Life of the Sea Otter

The book follows a female sea otter, Lutris, across the course of a year on California’s Northern Pacific coast. She lives among giant kelp, searches creatively for food, and avoids a great white shark. Her story also includes the birth of her pup. Through these events, the book focuses on one otter’s life in a coastal ocean environment and the dangers and needs she encounters there.
