This account traces Welles Crowther from his youth, when he played sports and volunteered with a local fire department, to college and a Wall Street job. His father had given him the red bandanna he carried. On September 11, 2001, Crowther was at work on the South Tower’s 104th floor when it was attacked. He died while helping others reach safety. Archival photographs accompany the book.
