The Reader

Sefia is running from the group that kidnapped her honorary aunt while carrying a rectangular object they want. Remembering her mother’s explanation that its small marks represent sounds, Sefia learns that the object is a book. Its stories include Captain Canek Reed and his crew. Sefia frees Archer, a mute boy held captive, and they are rescued during danger by Captain Reed himself. She later discovers that the book is alive and possesses immense power.
