The Only Road

After a gang murders Jaime’s best friend and Angela’s brother in their Guatemalan village, the danger turns toward the two cousins. Their families borrow money to send them on a perilous journey toward the U.S. border, where Jaime hopes to join his older brother in New Mexico. Along the road, Jaime and Angela encounter frightening conditions but also kindness from strangers and connections with other young travelers. A dog accompanies them, while the children form bonds that offer comfort during an uncertain journey.
