The Jumbies

Eleven-year-old Corinne does not fear scorpions, teasing boys, or jumbies, which she considers stories adults use to frighten children. Her certainty is challenged when a strange woman places Corinne’s father under an evil spell. To prevent the woman from taking over her Caribbean island home, Corinne must find a way to stop her. The story follows Corinne as she confronts mystical danger and works to protect both her father and the island where she lives.
