The Girl with More Than One Heart

After Briana’s father dies suddenly, her family begins to come apart. She imagines another heart growing inside her, and it speaks with her father’s voice, giving her commands that she does not always understand. Briana is grieving while carrying heavy responsibilities at home: her brother has autism, and her mother is depressed. The story follows a gifted young teen as she faces loss, family strain, and the mysterious voice she associates with her father. Occasional black-and-white illustrations appear.
