The Elephant in the Room

Sila’s mother has been forced to return to Turkey, leaving Sila and her father in the United States. Nearly a year into the separation, Sila struggles to endure her mother’s absence and becomes withdrawn. Her father, a mechanic, takes her outside their Oregon town, where they meet an eccentric widower who has won the state lottery. The widower befriends them, and together they rescue a retired circus elephant.
