The Black Kids

In Los Angeles in 1992, Ashley Bennett and her friends are finishing their senior year, spending time at the beach and anticipating summer. In April, four LAPD officers are acquitted after beating Rodney King. As rioting breaks out in the city, Ashley, a wealthy African American teen, begins a journey of self-discovery and sees herself differently: not simply as one of the girls, but as one of the Black kids.
