Michael Bornstein recounts his early years in Poland during World War II, including his imprisonment at Auschwitz and life after liberation. At age four, footage filmed in 1945 showed him leaving Auschwitz in his grandmother’s arms. His story includes his parents’ efforts to help him survive and relatives’ escapes from Żarki. Bornstein and his daughter Debbie built the memoir from his memories and interviews. Photographs, a glossary, and additional back matter are included.
