Sun Don't Shine

Reece travels across South Florida alongside the father responsible for her abduction. To survive, she changes both her name and appearance, sleeps in the woods, gathers whatever food she can, and keeps other people at a distance. Shawn becomes her first genuine friend, prompting Reece to doubt both the rules that govern her life and the account of their past given by her father. Her pursuit of truth explores trauma, memory, secrecy, escape, and growing up.
