Stef Soto, Taco Queen

Mexican-American Stef Soto feels constrained by her loving but overprotective immigrant family. An artistic thirteen-year-old, she also chafes at the reputation and identity she associates with her family’s taco truck business. Stef hopes to break free from those pressures, but she comes to see that her family, friendships, and the truck matter in her life. The story centers on her changing relationship to the people and work she once found embarrassing.
