Shirley and Jamila Save Their Summer

Shirley and Jamila begin spending the summer together so Jamila can play basketball at a court away from home. Shirley is already known around the neighborhood for helping other children as a detective. When Oliver reports that his gecko has been stolen, Jamila becomes involved in the investigation despite Shirley’s preference for working alone. Their search takes them through the neighborhood, to the pool, and among witnesses and possible suspects, while their new friendship is put to the test.
