She Is A Haunting

Jade Nguyen travels to Vietnam to visit her estranged father, Ba, who is restoring a French colonial house. She plans to survive five weeks while pretending that they are a happy family, because Ba has promised her money for college. Jade has learned to alter herself to fit in, questioning whether she is straight enough, Vietnamese enough, or American enough. The house itself carries a threatening presence, adding supernatural danger to Jade’s struggle with family and identity.
