She Caught the Light: Williamina Stevens Fleming: Astronomer

This nonfiction picture book recounts the life of astronomer Williamina Stevens Fleming. An immigrant and a woman, she encountered many barriers while studying stars, yet continued her work. The account follows her persistence to the Harvard College Observatory, where she became its first woman employee, and places her contributions in the early development of modern astronomy.
