Sea Sirens (Trot & Cap’n Bill Adventure series)

Trot, a Vietnamese American girl who surfs, is swept beneath the waves with Cap’n Bill, her one-eyed talking cat, after they are caught by an enormous wave. They arrive in an underwater realm where sea sirens are fighting the Serpent King and his followers. The pair become involved in the conflict and must try to rescue Trot’s grandfather and find their way back home. The story is presented as a graphic novel with color panels and draws on Vietnamese mythology alongside fantastic creatures of the sea.
