Race for the Ruby Turtle

As summer ends, Jake Rizzi stays at his great-aunt’s cabin in Oregon’s damp, moss-covered backwoods while his parents leave for a couples retreat. Jake wonders whether his ADHD is part of why they need time away. His aunt lives off the grid and tells stories about a turtle whose shell is the color of a ruby. When Jake discovers the turtle is real, an online article draws searchers to the area, including a suspicious park ranger and twin visitors who say they are zoologists.
