This nonfiction picture book explores collective nouns and the ways animals live in groups. Flamingoes gather in the thousands as a flamboyance, while bats, mongooses, wildebeests, and other creatures appear in their own named groups. Repeated “together” ideas trace group activities such as feeding, sleeping, growing, and finding mates. Mixed-media illustrations accompany the patterned text, which closes by connecting animal groups with people gathering together and notes the importance of protecting creatures on Earth.
