Changing the Equation: 50+ US Black Women in STEM

This book profiles Black women who made contributions to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in the United States. It includes Dr. Rebecca Crumpler, who received an MD degree in 1864, as well as computer scientists, doctors, mathematicians, and others. The women portrayed faced discrimination while pursuing their work. Archival images and photographs accompany the profiles, which also include extensive source notes. The book focuses on Black women whose work changed American STEM fields.
