One Spring Up North

In this wordless picture book, a family camps and travels by canoe through Northern Minnesota’s Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness in spring. Their journey takes place as winter gives way to warmer weather and the natural world changes around them. They encounter wind and waves, watch geese fly overhead, and notice small moments such as nesting owlets and a broken robin’s egg. The family stops to camp and portage while observing wildlife and the season’s emerging plant life.
