On the Shoulder of a Giant: An Inuit Folktale

This Inuit legend features Inukpak, a friendly giant who crosses tundra, rivers, lakes, and the Arctic on long travels. His great size and wide-ranging journeys often leave him alone. When he meets a small human hunter on the tundra, Inukpak believes the hunter is a boy alone on the land. He adopts him as a son and brings him along on his travels.
